Rockweed Seaweed

Wellness from de Sea

Rockweed Seaweed

Latin: Ascophyllum Nodosum

Rockweed also called Knotted Wrack.

The Ascophyllum is a seaweed with a strong constituency of an olive green color sometimes yellowish to green brownish. Its form is long and flat with floaters at regular intervals. Usually, one floater means one year of age. It lives up to 15 meters deep and can reach from 1 to 3 meters in length.

It can be found in the Mediterranean Sea but mainly in the Northern hemisphere on both sides of the Atlantic. Where it is found it can sometimes cover wide areas on the coast which leave no room for other species to grow.
